Have you ever wanted to type a name on a picture and yet make what you have typed unobtrusive or even transparent? Well, here’s how to do it:
- Open the picture on which you intend to add text.
- Click on the Text Tool on the toolbox, then click at a suitable place on your picture, then, using the contextual bar make sure that you select the size you want and positioning etc.
- Type your word or whatever you want to type on your picture. You will notice a second layer appear on your layers pallet (F7 on your keyboard to bring up the layers pallet if it’s not already open).
- Move your cursor to that second layer in your layers pallet and click on the blue area somewhere to the right of any text in the box.
- A new box will appear, on the new layers style box select Bevel and Emboss, but, click to the right of those words and not in the tick box to the left of the words, select whatever settings you need to make the text “Stand Out” from the picture, the colouring of the text is of no consequence. When you have finished hit enter or OK, The box closes and you are left with whatever you typed on your picture.
- Now, all you have to do is make it see through, to do this make sure that your layers pallet is open. Look towards the top right of the layers pallet, you will see the words Opacity and Fill. Leave the opacity set to 100% but reduce the fill to about 1 to 3 %. You should now be able to see the picture through the text.
- Flatten and save the image, Job Done.
