To Turn a Greyscale image to a colour image.

  1. First select a suitable greyscale image and open it in Photoshop.
  2. Next, go to Image – Mode and make sure that RGB Colour is ticked, if not this won't work.
  3. Then select and area of your picture, let's say a face, using the polygonal lasso tool on the toolbar (L on your keyboard).
  4. Next go again to Image then Adjustments and finally Colour Balance (CTRL B) on your keyboard. Then move the sliders until you have the desired result.
  5. Now select Ctrl D to de-select the area already worked on and move to another area, again using the polygonal lasso tool. Repeat the procedure.
  6. Keep doing this in all the areas you need to re-colour until your image colour is complete and bingo you should have one colour picture.

Now, don't neglect the areas of the eyes and teeth, as well as the background. Happy colouring.
